IR Receiver USA type

The IR-250 used as part of a network, receives IR commands from hand held remote control devices to extend command from room to room. This receiver is used in the American style faceplate.

As part of an IR distribution network, the IR-250 is mounted in a USA Style wall plate in the room where control of a centrally located system is required. The IR-250 is cabled using CAT5e cable and is powered from the central IR-100 block.  The infrared light signals are converted to electrical signals and passed through the network to the IR-E1 emitters and converted back to light.

A built in “talkback” green LED is incorporated in the lens giving a visual indication of IR activity.

Whatever IR code / signal are inputted it is transmitted through the network. Therefore a remote code from a video controller will control its own device, also a remote from the HiFi will control only that system.

Care has to be taken if you have two devices using the same control codes i.e. two satellite set top boxes from the same manufacturer / make etc.

Generally the IR-250 is plasma friendly, but locations with LCD and plasma screen should be taken into account.
